qsynth is a wrapper to fluidsynth.


Maybe qsynth itself then is blocking lash somehow, because it doesn't show up in lash_panel, while fluidsynth on the command line does.

Wolfgang, thanks! I wasn't using the instr numbers before, which I think was my problem.
