I have a windows sequencer running over wineasio/jack on an rme multiface.  at 
the same time I have kde, amarok, vlc, skype, 2:nd life (in wine) and flash 
sharing my onboard Intel-hda soundcard (using alsa).  This on kubuntu 8.04.  
Seems to be no problem...
