I've only used patch once before, and had to look to the man page. I got the patch installed, and make then ran to completion, and Qtractor is now installed. All I have to do now is find out how to use it. I bought a step sequencer "Making Waves" when I was using XP, but never did got it to run with Wine, but was getting on quite well with it in XP. Having GB's of .wav soundfiles I am hoping that Qtractor may be similar to the Making Waves app. I'll give it a go, but perhaps I should be using my .wavs with a tracker. Thanks for the manual. I'm only partially through it. Anyway I can confirm that it builds ok on Archlinux (Don't Panic), after applying your patch, so that make will work with gcc version 4.3.
