http://xjadeo.sf.net/ can be controlled via stdin/stdout and/or
Posix-message queues.

I do use a wrapper OSC<->stdio for some projects and will commit that to
it's contrib folder (when I get home later tonight - I thought it's
already in there)

start/stop mmh. - xjadeo does not have it's own transport. You can use
jack-transport.

xjadeo can slave to MTC.

Concept wise the alternative is http://sync.dyne.org/ - It does not push
the time-sync information up the stream but just runs after filling
buffers (no seek, no latency compensation,..).
