Hi!
  You preload samples. Probably first the full sample will beloaded, but then 
swapped at least. And if you look at:
./configure --help | less
  You'll see something like:
--enable-preload-samples
  Set samples to load into ram (default: 32768)
  There is a way to "pin" data in real ram, protecting it from getting 
swapped.
  I look at my RAM usage: I saw that LinuxSampler usd only 41% of it. I used 
65536 samples preloading.
  Still it doesn't work. And I still wonder why!
