Forgot to mention GWC (Gnome Wave Cleaner). Also, record at the highest rate you can - I record mine at 96KHz. The filters in GWC (and others) do less damage that way. In addition, if you've got a ton of scratches, wash the records first in a light detergent and, this may sound odd, but you can eliminate a lot or the scratch and crackle by recording with a little standing water on the record (of course it may not be the best thing for your cartridge, but it didn't seem to bother mine at all ;-) -- Jan 'Evil Twin' Depner http://myweb.cableone.net/eviltwin69 "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chardonnay in one hand, chocolate in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming 'WOO HOO, what a ride'" _______________________________________________ Linux-audio-user mailing list Linux-audio-user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.linuxaudio.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-audio-user
