interesting thought....

That's an important fact. The "problem/situation/whatever" is, that a 
lot of home
recorders/semi-professionals use windows tools for free (no guess, it's 
true) though
there aren't free at all. And therefore they compare quasi-free tools.
Best example: photoshop. It's a silly habit. Some friends of mine 
compare photoshop with
gimp, saying gimp sucks because it lacks of certain functions but they 
forget that
there is a gap of at least 500€ from gimp to photoshop they wouldn't 
want to pay if they had to.

That has nothing to do with people who compare tools on a basis where 
they posses
or are ready to pay the amout for the commercial application.
