Rosegarden is exactly the opposite.  It has some basic built-in assignments, 
and you can't currently reconfigure or augment them at all.

They're briefly documented in the Rosegarden Handbook (the F1-key Help in 
Rosegarden), under "The Studio" -> "External MIDI control surfaces".  If for 
any reason you can't get the help to work, you can also read it online here:
