yeah, indeed the newer version rocks again:

http://www.arrakis.es/~rggi3/youtube-dl/

download it here, make the file executable:

'chmod u+x youtube-dl' and copy it to /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin.
than enter the youtube page you wanna watch and paste the url in the terminal, sth like:

youtube-dl http//......


when finched, mplayer does the rest!
