Not that you need the full blown mastering compression, but I think 
JaMin has EQ too.

You didn't say what context you're working in.  Running EQ with 
something like an MP3 player, e.g. Amarok, is a different thing than 
running EQ with a sound file editor, e.g. Audacity.
