Exactly.
It's just totally illogical. "mutt doesn't care, so let's change it the
other way". What? If it doesn't care, why change? It makes it harder
when you use Thunderbird, or Squirrelmail/Avelsieve, or other tools
which do "care".
As near as I can tell, Thunderbird doesn't care, either.
