I like odd. 

It reminds me of the great jump-right-into-it non-intro to Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Little Sister". It's jarring, and engaging, and grabs yer attention, like starting a novel in the middle of a fight scene.

Lovely hollow-body guitar sound, and excellent comping. Great harp solo too.

It might be worth grabbing the snare hits (in Ardour or whatever sequencer you're using), and scooting them forward a few milliseconds after the beat, to digitally simulate the slowed reaction times usually obtained by giving the drummer a few more shots of whiskey.
