I'd like to make some desktop video captures (with audio) like xvidcap can make, but that program doesn't work with Jack. Is there a way to use xvidcap with Jack, or is there another recommended solution ?

I've successfully made some screencasts using Recordmydesktop (http://recordmydesktop.iovar.org/), which works great and can record audio from jack.

Excellent, thank you very much. :)

I worked with it last night, had a lot of fun, but I wish it had a few features I like in xvidcap. Also, the GTK version steadfastly refuses to acknowledge that there's really a Jack server running, but I'm getting along fine with the standard UI anyway.

I made up a test video last night with xvidcap. I edited it in LiVES, then added a soundtrack with Ardour2 and qjadeo. Cool tools, great fun.

Best,
