what's about the sox .dat format?

   sox audio.wav audio.dat

Gives something like

; Sample Rate 44100
               0       -0.1524353 
   2.2675737e-05      -0.19134521 
   4.5351474e-05       -0.2215271 
   6.8027211e-05      -0.21386719 
   9.0702948e-05      -0.18746948 
   0.00011337868      -0.17770386
