Hi!
  Use mplayer, that's what I usually do and it works fine:
mplayer -ao pcm:file=output.wav input.wma
  Also works with other propriatary formats. The only thing you have to get is 
the all-somedate.tar.bz2 package along with mplayer, it's on their site.
