The missing files are all found in /usr/include/qt4/Q* which confuses me even more. And in anticipation of the question: the Qt packages were installed via apt-get and Synaptic.

I'll give this whole thing one final shot today if someone can come up with a way around Debian's Qt directory policy.

Btw, these errors are identical whether I build from tarball or repository sources.
