Yesterday I've upgraded my kernel from 2.6.18 to 2.6.21 and ran into the very same problem Julien reported. My IPGA controls was gone from both Kmix and Envy24control. Looks like an ALSA problem.

I wonder whom should I send the bug report to: kernel maintainers or ALSA team?
