fluxus runs on linux or osx. to use al-jazari you need the cvs version
(0.12) which depends on PLT scheme http://www.plt-scheme.org/ 

it also uses my live synth and sampler which can be found here:
http://www.pawfal.org/Software/livenoisetools/ (itchy and scratchy)

everything requires libjack, liblo, libsndfile etc etc
