You should worry unless you use jack_mixer :)
Before this improvement connecting synth producing NaNs (because of bug
in it) caused high level peak that could damage your equipment and/or
ears and also caused everything (the mixer output) to silence out (I
guess adding normal sample value to a NaN produces another NaN).
