Hi! You can try NoteEdit: http://noteedit.berlios.de/ I use it often. It can export to several formats, including lilypond. It is being rewriten in Qt4 without need for KDE. The new name is Canorus: http://canorus.berlios.de/ It seems they are making some real progress on this.
I forgot to say that the MIDI support is not very good, unfortunately. The new project has more chances of succeding on that. About jack support, it depends on the softsynth that is rendering the real audio from the MIDI data sent from NoteEdit. -- ------------------------------------------- Denis A.
