This page explains how to do it for kernel modules, but you can do it for any Debian package: <http://wiki.freespire.org/index.php/Upgrading_Kernel_Modules> Basically you: * apt-get source blah * download and un-tar the new tarball for blah and then go into blah/ * modify debian/changelog * sudo dpkg-buildpackage YMMV.
