I had absolutely no problem! The compilation went smoothly, and I got the inputs working. It took a couple of minutes to figure out the cause of feedback (in the "Capture" screen of the alsamixer, the PCM slider has to be all the way down, otherwise the output feeds back to the input, did you notice that?). I do get some xruns but I will try better luck with a newer kernel. Another problem is that it shares IRQ with my video card and usb1... ut I am not done with trying different usage scenarios.
