Hi Atte. I think you may well have problems if you remove jack, before 
installing the cvs version. I've just seen today, a very similar question 
regarding jack on the planetccrma list.  If you use synaptic, it might be 
worth doing a trial removal of jack, before comitting yourself with the apply 
button, to just see if other stuff is going to be removed with jack.
