This amounts to 30 frames for each in and out, and is not excessive. Take some frames for digital buffering, serial transmission to/from converters etc. and the rest will be the anti-aliasing filters. A linear-phase filter has a delay equal to half its lenght. A delay of 14 frames (7 in each direction) means that the filters are either not linear-phase, or that they will not be very flat near Fs/2. -- FA Lascia la spina, cogli la rosa.
