The same kernels boot just fine on a more recent > machine. I've finally found a kernel that works on both machines: 2.6.18-rt3! It's far from stable, but at least it boots, unlike all the previous versions I've tried. Now I can only hope that the remaining issues will be resolved in future versions of 2.6.18-rt...
