Are you sure it is for only Mac and Windows?  What is
the required Java version?  If the minimum Java
version required is older than 1.4.2, it could be the
limitation is related a Java MIDI provider.  If this
is the case, then Java 1.4.2 or newer may work;
javax.media.sound.midi was finally fixed in 1.4.2.
