I have an ADSL connection.

I would be happy to describe how I connect if someone will just tell me
what  they need to know.

        It's difficult to help as long as you don't indicate the way you
connect to the internet, but if you have a DSL connection, the command
pppoeconf, as root, will do the job. AFAIK it's the standard way in
Debian.
