can't really help you on this issue, but I successfully ran a Terratec 
Aureon USB until I bought a better device. The Aureon is somehow very 
similar to the Maya.


THe only thing I see is that you run a 2.6.8 while I always used a 
2.6.10; maybe snd_usb_audio didn't know the Maya in 2.6.8?
