I agree. Mp3 decoding will be wonderful. It could be nicer through Mad than 
mpg123. The cool thing would be: only one one API for widespread audio 
formats!
I must say that mp3 decoding libraries, actually, are not at all programmer 
friendly. IMHO reasons are outdated C like structs and old programming style. 
Libsndfile API is what every audio coder needs.
Please Erik... take one minute for such an idea! ;-P
