Hi. I also had this problem with banks with one of the distro's I installed 
ZynAddSubFx on. It was, IIRC, to do with the upper/lower case spelling of 
ZynAddSubFx. Have a look in the synths File/Settings/Bank root dirs, and 
compare the way it is spelled, compared with that in /usr/share. If they 
differ, click "Add root directory" in the settings panel, type out 
the /usr/share line again, but changing the upper/lower case spelling of the 
synth to the same as that in /usr/share. Click on "Make default", then try 
the banks combo box again. This may not be your problem, but it's worth a 
look. Nigel.
