Please don't perpetuate this confusing terminology. An readable port is an "input port" and a writable port is an "output port". After all, you plug your guitar into the jack on the amp labeled "input" and the speaker into the jack labeled "output". Would anyone ever make a guitar amp that worked the other way round, then try to explain to the user that from the perspective of inside the amp, the guitar jack is "output" and the speaker jack "input"?
