Using Chris' help for selecting all of a note back in January, I selected all (ctrl-a) and filtered (ctrl-f) until only the "pitch" I wanted was selected. After that Adjust -> Note Style -> shape works on all selected notes. Pretty cool! Adding custom note shapes doesn't seem all that hard. OK, the first note shape will be hard. But, then the rest should fall like dominos, excepting anything that might need a new pixmap. Do you have a preferred tool for creating those? I use the GIMP and Xfig for drawing. I'm pretty certain that some new pixmaps will be needed. > Setting a default shape for each pitch in a drum map would > be an excellent addition to our ongoing drum map work at the > moment, though. I should give that some thought. I found three sources for drum note shapes tonight, two from the web. One is a music professor's hand written shapes. Another is Audio Graffiti's "Guide to Drum & Percussion Notation". I've also got a few "Modern Drummer" magazines laying about. The good news is that all of these sources agree with each other, and they should. They're all supposed to be taken from the definitive guide by the Percussive Arts Society (PAS). I should buy a copy of their guide. Cheers.... -- Kevin
