"The Study of Orchestration" - Samuel Adler W.W. Norton & Company ISBN 0-393-95807-8 It's a pretty good book, especially for someone new to orchestration as it goes into a lot of detail about tone production in general and on various instruments. It also comes with a CD (optionally?) which contains (all?) musical examples in the book. ./MiS
