Yes, I think A/DeMuDi is a good place to start. I migrated to it straight from 
Windows three years ago and haven't looked back. Be prepared to do lots of 
reading. I'm currently sticking my neck out and claiming that it is now in 
fact easier than installing and configuring Windows to do the same job.
