Welcome to the list! FYI, there are several excellent audio-on-Linux articles by Dave Phillips on linuxjournal.com - read them, they're great learning material. The MIDI panel in qjackctl is all i need in terms of connecting various MIDI sources and destinations in my computer. If you play with it, you'll probably discover it's all quite easy.
