Running JACK at a lowered nice value will not give you any lower latency and is considered a bad idea, as JACK already uses the pthread APIs to acquire real-time scheduling for the time sensitive threads. Running it at a low nice value could cause non real-time parts of JACK to interfere with the audio engine. If this does improve your latency it means there's a serious bug somewhere. Lee
