[linux-audio-user] Some pics of my "studio"

Here is an HTML photo log of my corner of our basement
adapted from a post on a PC gaming forum I frequent.

Recently I've started collecting hardware synths...
Would just about trade a kidney for an Oberheim Xa or
really nice Fender Rhodes...

October's DUNGEON!!!! (click the thumbnails to see the

One might notice from the above image that I do a bit
more down here than just play games and hack linux...
I've *always* loved music, all of it, and in the last
year or two have managed to find time to try and make
something of it myself. I am NO musician (not yet
anyway) but it's interesting what sort of limitations
pure passion and experimentation can lead to...
(that's my eight year old, "Spic3h Ch33z" thinking
about trading his guitar in on an Oberheim Xa)

A crappy image of my PC screen showing off Jack audio
connection kit, the Ardour DAW, and ZynAddSubFX...

Ah, the Roland E-70 "Intelligent Synthesizer". Pretty
much like any keyboard you might find at your local
electronics store with some semi-proaudio bells and
whistles like split keyboard, aftertouch,
semi-weighted velocity senstive keys and full midi
compatibility. Very cool for trying out new stuff
quickly, with built in accompaniment, drum tracks,
etc...

My tried and true Edirol PCR-M50 midi controller...
usually used to run wicked softsynths (mostly under
linux). More controllers than I usually know what to
do with!

Just bought this one today... A Korg DS-8... came with
400 extra sounds! Very nice, much nicer than I
expected from the reviews I've read...

And my pride and joy... a vintage Roland Juno 60
analog synth... used by many bands including Pete
Townsend (Let My Love Open the Door, etc.), Enya, The
Cure, Sean Lennon, Faithless, Astral Projection, Vince
Clarke, Rabbit in the Moon, Men at Work, Flock of
Seagulls, Olive, Dee-Lite, Howard Jones, Locust,
Eurythmics and Add N to (X) and more! I'm amazed at
the sounds this thing can create, especially with only
a single DCO! I love my Juno :D
