I use one of these: http://www.edirol.com/products/info/pcr50.html I'm not a fan of the roland push modulators, but it has plenty of other controls to make up for it. Its USB/serial MIDI, and if you use it as a USB device the serial MIDI holes appear as interfaces to the PC, which is handy. - Steve
