Lucky me - i have one, that runs right away with ardour, Jack, H2 and
Muse compiled from source and everything else from Suse-DVD-FTP and Packman.

Fetch a soundcard with an envy24-chipset - these Cards offer
Alsa/Jack-compatible HW-Monitoring - thus you can work with
near-zero-latency as normal user with the Standard-Kernel. No Patches,
no scripts, no trouble - just uncheck "Realtime" in qjackctl and
everything runs flawlessly.
This works fine for me with a Terratec EWX 24/96, i can edit and arrange
in Ardour, play with Muse and H2 and browse the Web and have Open Office
~ opened all at the same Time in KDE as well as in Fluxbox....

Alles Gute, bis bald,

p.s.: of course this works with other soundcards too, everything runs
stable and nicely if Jack does *not* run realtime - yet if you need to
record to multiple Tracks or if you need near-zero-latency for other
reasons, you?ll need better hardware or an own kernel plus self-compiled
packages for audio.
