From what I've learned so far, routing MIDI through the "through"
port may be my only options. Apparently Alsa does not support the
hardware synth on the CS64XX (Turtle Beach Santa Cruz) sound
card. Routing to the external sound module appears to be
neccessary, and was my ultimate goal anyhow.
