Hi Mark:

  I tested with this procedure:

    start jack with qjackctl
    start ams
connect ams to alsa via qjackctl audio connections tab
load patch in ams, add WAV output module
configure WAV output module (new file named wavout.wav)
    start recording
    start pmidi -p 129:0 foo.mid
    stop pmidi
    stop recording whenever
check for wavout.wav with ls -l
    load wavout.wav in soundfile editor
everything's okay, recorded WAV file plays perfectly

Do you see anything in that sequence that you might have missed ? When
you configured the WAV output module did it open a GTK file dialog
during the New File stage ?

Best,

dp
