Hoi Marije, probably a bit more info would help, but I'll try with what's here. I assume this is a PCMCIA card? If so then it's pretty much the same setup I have. What I used was Alsa drivers 1.0.8 from the alsa-project.org site, compiled manually, with a 2.6.10 kernel. Other driver versions would not do it for me---don't know why--so you might try this one in particular. You'll need the alsa-tools, alsa-utils and alsa-firmware as well. For me, I had to eject and reinsert the card after everything else is up and running. Did you also use the "hdsploader" command? This can be run as a user (as long as this user is in audio group). Also of course check the PCMCIA support in your kernel. You'll need 32 bit enabled, might be safest to enable all the PCMCIA options. Maybe you could provide some more info about your hardware if this doesn't fix it right up. best, derek Marije Baalman wrote: > Hi, > > I'm trying to get a RME Multiface working... > > details: > 2.6.11-7 kernel, freshly compiled from source > alsa-driver 1.0.9rc1 > > the snd_hdsp is loaded as a module, the firmware is not loaded (the > error led is still on). > pci_hotplug is enabled. > > No difference whether I have the card in at boot-time or put it in later. > > any suggestions would be welcome! > > > sincerely, > Marije > -- derek holzer ::: http://www.umatic.nl ---Oblique Strategy # 121: "Mute and continue"
