Hmm, 

i tried with several instances of jack-rack [4 or 5] and then using my
little test program. i do not see any xruns produced by the test
program's startup or shutdown [even if its ports are connected to all of
the jack rack instances].

Well anyways, even if this behaviour might show up on even more loaded
graphs it still is a problem that some jack clients which i used 
produce xruns either on startup or on shutdown [many on both], even if
they are the only client [ardour, jack-rack, supercollider, hydrogen
[i heard]]. There are well behaving ones, too though [meterbridge,
q[fluid]synth, specimen].
