MusE is only a one month course, fewer features to learn :) If you intend to use MIDI, both are well worth investing time & effort into. MusE is a slightly lighter, poppier editor (It has a drum matrix) and doesn't need jack to run. Rosegarden is mighty and has an excellent notation editor, works well with jack and has several useful additional features.
