My point was this: I hate building from source...never seems to go right
without hours of digging for extra stuff. Hence, I rely heavily on rpms.
I usually set up a "contrib" mirror and also Thacs rpms. 10.0 is
new...on the contrib mirrors, the versions of Ardour, jack, etc are
usually behind. (I know you invest a lot of time into producing these
for Mandrake users and I'm quite sure your busy) Often the Cooker
versions are later versions...
I usually try not to mix them...but in a pinch, sometimes that has
worked for me.
