Qsynth is great, but it's on board reverb sucks for any other purpose than a 
writing / recording cushion. The OP was asking about qjackctl and JackRack, 
which are equally neat GUI front-ends for JACK and LADSPA. Jack-Rack will 
serve very well, given a powerful enough computer.
