There are some good commercial soundfonts too, if you're willing to pay a bit
of money.
EMU Systems has several good soundfonts of their Proteus line (1,2,3,Mo Phatt,
Vintage, etc) as well as Orchestral and World instruments.  Their Proteus and
Orchestral soundfonts are really quite good for the money.
