i don't know about gmorgan, but hydrogen uses its own
xml format. it doesn't seem to have a midi export feature
that I can see, but it shouldn't be too hard to write
a script that converts a hydrogen pattern into midi.

you might also consider a pattern-oriented midi sequencer
such as seq24. I quite like it.
