Oh, thank you so much, Andreas! Too bad I didn't know this a few days ago, as I've just ordered Mandrake 10.1, and Knoppix 3.7 (Knoppix to try on our old computer). I tried Dynebolic, which is apparently a specialised music version of Linux, but I couldn't make it work. I'm a total newbie to Linux, and really want to get it working for doing recording (perhaps even mastering, eventually). Should I get DeMuDi, or can I make the music applications work with Mandrake? Is latency the main issue to watch out for, or are there others I'm not aware of? Any advice is much appreciated. Sorry, I haven't understood most of the messages since joining this list, but maybe eventually I will (when I have got Linux onto my computer).
