we are actually running at 48k.
These limitations seem to be built in as you can see on page 88 of the manual

A single MADI link supports 64 channels up to 48kHz. Higher sample rates
than that you only get 28 channels.
Not sure if that's your issue as you probably know that already, but
worth a mention.
